These beans make a great side dish to the GF BBQ Chicken Sandwich with Onion Straws featured in the previous post. I made them today because I didn’t have a can of baked beans on hand.

GF Baked Beans

1 can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed well
1/2 onion, diced
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Heinz Ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp molasses
2 Tbsp canola oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dry mustard
4 cloves of garlic, pressed

Combine all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil then cover and turn to medium low. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
